ExxonMobil Holdings Corp Price/Book Ratio

The price-to-book (P/B) ratio compares what the stock market says a company is worth with what the company's own books say it is worth. It is market capitalization divided by shareholder equity, the book value left after subtracting liabilities from assets, and the table shows both amounts. A ratio of 1.0 means market value equals book value; a higher ratio means investors value the company above its net assets, often for brands, software or expected growth the books do not record.
